Changing the Path to Music

The world of pop-music is constantly changing and the presence of God, Jesus and religion are a major part of this change. It seems as though music is acting as a bridge to people to bring them closer to God or to simply just make them more aware of His presence, faith and love. "Music is very much bound up with our desires, but Shakespeare points out that music is not simply an expression of this desire, but is something that is meant to shape it, to be a source of higher desire, namely love" (Staudt, 1). Many argue that this love can be appealing to the younger masses and that songs that acknowledge the love of God and Jesus are a key element in bringing young people back to the church and lets people hear the message of God in a way that appeals to the mainstream. It's seems as though we have come a long way from once viewing pop and rock music as that of the Devil and now look at it as a bridge to the Almighty (Joseph, 15). More than anything and now more than ever music is bringing people back to heir faith, rather than pulling them away from it.
